MLC in Ohio is part of the second generation of the MLC program. Ohio finds itself uniquely positioned to both learn from the states that have already developed a program as well as influence the national movement for voluntary accreditation. By utilizing the lessons learned in other States, Ohio has the opportunity to move forward efficiently and effectively. The first step in this process included the formation of an advisory committee and additional sub-committees.
Advisory Committee Role: This stakeholder group represents those directly or indirectly impacted by public health standards and voluntary accreditation. To facilitate this grassroots effort, the Advisory Committee, now called the Ohio Voluntary Accreditation Team, was formed. It is comprised of local boards of health representatives, local health commissioners, directors of nursing, environmental health directors, academics, public health association members, and the Ohio Department of Health. Representatives are listed below.

This committee will also identify best practices in CQI in public health searching within the MLC states and beyond, and will critique those models and their components for applicability in Ohio.
